Jocassee is the only lake in South Carolina offering both trophy trout and a smallmouth bass and has become a favorite fishing spot for anglers throughout the Southeast. The deep, crystal-clear water provides an excellent habitat for many species of fish, including brown trout, rainbow trout, white bass, smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, bluegill and black crappie. A valid South Carolina fishing license is required. No one under 16 years of age is required to obtain a hunting or fishing license, although they must be accompanied by a SC license holder. A temporary SC fishing license is $11 for non-residents and is valid for 14 days. You can get any SC license online at www.dnr.sc.gov or on the SCDNR app.
